a window breaks and a siren echoes across the night,
it awakens me and i look out upon the city,
and as the sun rises with mornings first light,
i open the window and the breeze feels skintight...

i shiver as a chill runs down my spine,
the winter greets me with a cool hug,
my eyes blink in recognition of sunshine,
as the day hits me like a warning sign...

the universe meets me head on as i open the door,
i take my first step into nothingness,
though i realize that i am clean no more,
i decide to continue to explore...

i look around wondering if anything makes sense,
and i conclude that such an item does not exist,
though i have no evidence,
i find the feeling seems intense...

the morning snow melts away,
and i look up into the sky,
and if it were any other day,
then it would seem to feel like may...
